Caring for Creation: From Passion to Action

Caring for Creation: From Passion to Action

Our next CRES in-person day (open to all) is on Saturday 24th May 2025 at Ripon College Cuddesdon (RCC) near Oxford. Our speakers are Rev. Dr. Mike Perry (Bishop of Salisbury’s Adviser on Climate Justice and A Rocha UK Trustee) and Dr. Elizabeth Perry (Programmes Director for the Anglican Alliance).

In the morning Mike will speak on“Reason to Care: towards a multifaceted practical theology of creation care.” Many Christians have a firm faith and care passionately about the natural world, but too often, they can only make limited connections between the two. Mike is passionate about giving churches a broad basis for caring for the natural world and helping all Christians explore their fundamental calling to care for God’s earth.

In the afternoon Elizabeth will speak on “Practical Care: Stories of environmental hope from across the world” The Communion Forest is a global initiative made up of local activities of tree growing and eco-system conservation, protection and restoration undertaken by provinces, dioceses and individual churches across the Anglican Communion to safeguard creation.  Elizabeth will share stories of how local communities are being agents of change in the world planting seeds of hope in the lives of their communities.
