CRES

CRES Tasters, Short Courses and Sabbaticals

CRES has now been running for over 20 years. Most of our students have taken the whole course, but every so often somebody has asked if they could try a taster, do a short course, or maybe use CRES modules as the basis of a sabbatical. Up to now, we have dealt with these enquiries on an ad hoc basis, as they came in, and have not promoted these ideas in any of our publicity. We have now decided to change that thinking and actively promote shorter versions of CRES. Here are three possibilities:

The Taster

Have you ever wondered what CRES was like but not wanted to commit to taking the full course? You could just take one module as a taster and see how you get on. The most likely module is Module 1, The Living World, but we are open to suggestions.

The Short Course

It may be that you don’t have the time or inclination to take the whole of CRES, but want to take a short course tailored to your needs. For example, you might decide to take three modules and to specialise in environmental theology, or environmental studies. We have twelve modules to choose from, and the possibilities are endless!

The Sabbatical

You may be planning a sabbatical and want to focus your time on environmental studies or theology. In the past we have had several clergy who have taken this option. In a three-month sabbatical, if you were intending to concentrate full time on your studies it would be possible to take three modules. But often people have other things they want to do on sabbatical, and one or two modules might be easier to fit in. Again, there are many possible module choices.

Fees, the Future, and Contacting Us

The fees are slightly above pro rata for the whole course, to allow a small amount for additional administration, so one module is currently £115.00. Depending on how many modules you took, you may be allowed free entry to one of our day conferences if they fitted your schedule.

In all cases, you would be allowed to use the modules taken as credit towards completing the whole CRES Certificate. The remaining fee would again be pro rata, taking into account the modules already taken.
