The CRES course has been a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in developing their understanding of environmental concerns from a Christian perspective. I have worked in the ecology and conservation sector for a number of years, but I had not seriously considered how caring for the natural environment was connected to my faith. The CRES course has given me the fantastic opportunity to do just that. There was a great selection of modules to choose from and I particularly enjoyed the module ‘theologies of the relationship between humanity, nature and God’. It was also great to have the support of a local tutor who offered much support and ideas for essays. The feedback for essays was also very encouraging and helpful.
Since working in the environmental sector I have often wanted the church to be more engaged with the environmental issues going on in our world. And since doing the course I have had opportunities to teach groups on these issues and how we as Christians can respond in a positive way. I have enjoyed being able to pass on to others what I have learnt on the CRES course and have seen many people become more interested in creation care. I have also been inspired to continue studying theology and have just completed a Diploma. Overall I have very much enjoyed the course and have met some great people as well as studying some great topics.
