Christian Rural and Environmental Studies (CRES) is a distance learning course that is jointly run by A Rocha UK (ARUK) and The John Ray Initiative (JRI), and is validated by Ripon College Cuddesdon (RCC) near Oxford. All three parent organisations have their own safeguarding policies.
Our activities may from time to time include working with adults at risk, or having contact with young people on rare occasions. The purpose of the CRES policy is to protect them and provide stakeholders and the public with the overarching principles that guide our approach in doing so. CRES is committed to complying with our legal obligations and social responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
We believe it is good practice to have in place an appropriate safeguarding policy to ensure that employees and volunteers are aware of their responsibilities and that all allegations, suspicions and incidents of abuse, harm or the risk of harm to children or vulnerable adults or where there is a concern about the behaviour of an individual are reported immediately.
